Andrew T. Shepherd Bio

Andy is an experienced attorney with an extensive background in estate planning, wills, trusts, special needs trusts, probate administration and litigation, business planning and formation, and real estate litigation such as heirs property, partitions, property tax appeals, easements, and quiet title actions. 



In addition to his skillful planning and areas of general practice, Andy is a proficient litigator, having successfully tried and argued numerous cases before judges and juries in trial courts across the State, and has successfully argued numerous cases before administrative bodies, the Federal District Court for the District of South Carolina, the appellate courts of the State, and the United States Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit. 

 

Prior to entering private practice, Andy served as the judicial law clerk for the Dorchester County Probate Court and for the Dorchester County Master-in-Equity. Prior to his admission to the South Carolina Bar, Andy also worked as a paralegal in a large plaintiff’s firm focusing on mass and toxic tort litigation. Andy attributes these experiences to his inspiration and commitment to aid others through the law.
